What does my child need to bring to a swim meet?
Two Pairs of googles – their team race suit – two towels – snacks and a water bottle.

How long does a swim meet last?
A swim meet will be at least 4 hours, but it could be longer.

How many events can my child swim?
Each swimmer will swim 2 individual events and possibly a rely depending on the number of swimmers.

How will I know what my swimmer will be swimming at the meet?
The Coaches will discuss with your child what events they would like to participate in and decide what is best. Coaches will not discuss events with the parents per the school handbook.

How does my swimmer get to the meets?
The school provides both the Middle and High School teams with a bus.

How is it determined what swimmers will be on a relay?
The coach makes that decision. There are a variety of factors involved. No swimmer is guaranteed to swim on a relay. If your swimmer has a poor sportsmanship attitude or does not participate in practice could result being removed from a relay.

How long does the season last?
Practice officially starts in October and lasts until the end of January. If you qualify for State, in High School, the season runs through the middle of February.

Can spectators attend the swim meets?
Yes, spectator can attend the swim meets, However, seating may be limited at certain venues. It is recommended to arrive early.

Does Middle School and High School swim at the same meets?
High School and Middle School will have both combined and separate meets throughout the season.

Can parents speak to the officials at a swim meet?
NO, parents and or swimmers are not allowed to speak to officials, if they do it can result in the team being disqualified.

Can a video be used to overturn an official’s call?
A video recorded by a spectator or coach cannot be used to overturn an official's disqualification (DQ).

Can swimmer leave after their last event?
No, the swimmer is required to stay for the whole meet, unless permission by the coach is given prior to the meet.

What happens if my swimmer misses a swim meet?
The parent/swimmer MUST notify the coach ASAP if they are missing a meet. If the meet is considered unexcused the parent/swimmer will be responsible for the meet fees. Missing a meet could prevent other swimmers from swimming in relays.
